Video Sessions Button

How It Works​

Once you've booked a session, everything you need will appear in the Booked Sessions tab.

The Video Session button can be found after the Reschedule and Cancel buttons on the session information strip (which displays your session details like date and time).

Here’s what you need to know about joining your video call:

Mentors​

When Does the Button Activate?​

  • The Video Session button becomes active 5 minutes before your scheduled session time.

  • You must join before the exact start time to avoid potential penalties.

  • The button will deactivate once the session ends.

How Long Are Sessions?​

  • Sessions are booked for 30 minutes, but are designed to run for 25 focused minutes.

  • Use the last 5 minutes to wrap up, discuss follow-up tasks, or prepare for your next session.

  • If more time is needed, you and your mentee can book two back-to-back sessions for a total of 55 minutes.

Ending the Session​

  • Sessions will automatically end 5 minutes after the scheduled end time, even if you're still in the call.

  • It’s best to leave during the final minute or within the last 5 minutes of your session—especially if you have another session right after—to stay on schedule.

Punctuality & Professionalism​

  • Missed sessions = 1 flag. After 3 flags, your account will be placed under review.

  • If something unavoidable happens (like an emergency or unforeseen issue), please submit a short explanation to the team, they will review it and decide whether it counts as a flag or not.

  • Always communicate with your mentee in advance if you foresee any issues—professionalism builds trust.

  • Being late can negatively impact your reviews and damage the trust you've built with your mentee. Consistency and reliability are key to a successful mentoring relationship.

  • Sessions are scheduled for 30 minutes, but the structured part of the session runs for 25 focused minutes.

  • The last 5 minutes can be used for quick wrap-up, questions, or reviewing your next steps.

  • If you’d like a longer session, you can book two sessions in a row (55 minutes total).

Ending the Session​

  • Sessions will automatically end 5 minutes after the scheduled end time, even if you're still in the call.

  • Try to wrap up and exit during the last few minutes to stay on track.

Attendance Matters​

  • If you miss your session, no refund will be given and your session will be lost.

  • Please be punctual and message your mentor in advance and reschedule if something comes up.
